The sixth film in the martial arts series follows on from the 2010 film starring Jaden Smith, and the successful comedy series Cobra Kai, which ended earlier this year.

"Jackie, you've done over 200 films and the big thing with you is you want to do your own stunts, and I'm sure the same was the case in this film?" Alex asked on today's The One Show, reports .

Jackie responded frankly: "In the old days, we didn't have money, we didn't have time, we just risked my life to do all these stunts," leaving the hosts speechless.

"When we have money, we know the , the audience don't like to see Jackie Chan using special effects. So until now, and even I tell Ben, you have to do your own stunts, and the audience respects you."

"It's a lot to live up to," Alex observed, before Jackie explained how Charlie Chaplin inspired his style of fighting.

"It's the old days, nothing, no special effects. They do all kinds of crazy stunts and I said, 'I gotta do it'," he added.

A visibly shocked Alex then exclaimed: "Oh my goodness, it's amazing that you're sitting here in one piece, Jackie," with Clara chiming in: "He's here! A man committed."
