A 'multi-vehicle crash' on the M60 has sparked five-mile delays. The collision forced several lanes to close on the near Stockport, Greater just before .
warned of delays of around one hour due to the incident, with closures having been in place earlier between junctions J27 and J1. It said: "The event is expected to clear between 08.30am and 08.45am on 6 May 2025. Normal traffic conditions are expected between 09.15am and 09.30am on May 6, 2025.
"There are currently delays of 1 and a half hours against expected traffic." In an update at 7.47am, National Highways said the scene had now been cleared, although long traffic delays remain.

The agency warned: "There are resulting delays of 60 minutes however these should begin to ease."
Multiple emergency services vehicles were spotted at the scene of the accident.
The has approached Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service for comment.
Traffic has continued along the M60 through the rush hour this morning.
Live traffic maps from showed a dark 'red' colour, indicating congestion, still in place around 8.30am.
The M60, also known as the Manchester Outer Ring Road, is one of the busiest stretches of motorway in the north of England.
The section near Stockport alone is used by over 125,000 drivers every day.
To the north of Manchester, there have also been long delays on the M60 anticlockwise at Junction 15 to M61 Junction 1.
Elsewhere on the roads this morning, heavy traffic is being reported on the M6 Southbound at Junction 21A and Croft Interchange, near Warrington.
In Southampton, one lane closed and there is slow traffic in the area due to a stalled vehicle on M27 Westbound at J5 and A335 Stoneham Way for Southampton Airport and Eastleigh.
Approaching Darlington, one lane is closed and there is slow traffic due to a crash on A1(M) Southbound from Junction 57 A66 to Junction 56 B6275 Hang Bank.
