Emmerdale returned to ITV with a brand new episode. In it, killer John Sugden (played by Oliver Farnworth) attempted to flee the country and away from the police. However, in a major twist, fans are certain his plans will severely backfire. After his shocking crimes were exposed, John managed to convince Caleb Milligan (William Ash) to help him escape by threatening to expose the truth about Anthony Fox's (Nicholas Day) murder. Although he agreed, Caleb soon led John into a trap where he was confronted by Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordely), who wanted revenge after John killed his son, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).
Enraged by the sight of him and armed with a gun, Caleb realised Cain was just seconds from pulling the trigger and knocked him out with a shovel. Fearing the scheduled email about the murder would send, he put an unconscious Cain into the boot and helped John flee to Rotterdam. But in the final moments of the episode, as the pair successfully went through Border Force, Cain kicked the back seat through and seemingly drove in their direction. As a result, ITV viewers are certain this will lead to a tragic double murder twist as Cain gets revenge. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one wrote: "I'd love Cain to catch up with Caleb & John & kill both of them." As a second echoed, "Cain is going to kill Caleb when he does come around."

"Well Caleb better do a runner when Cain catches up with him and also Chas, Aaron and Mack because they be after his blood," said another.
A fourth anticipated: "I really hope Cain catches up with the van during tomorrow's episode so we can this John nightmare once and for all."
One raged: "I'm done with #Emmerdale cos what the hell is happening with John and Caleb. This is just ridiculous, what a waste of my time. I hope Cain kills Caleb off now after watching this sh**."
"I can't wait for Cain to hunt down John so we can all be done with him. I hope he also kills Caleb for siding with his son's murderer. no excuse," added another viewer.
After successfully passing through border control, Caleb told John that he would drive him to Rotterdam, but he must leave at the first service station.
After insisting on having no further contact with John, the murderer showed that he had deleted the email that implicates Caleb and also handed over the details on where Anthony's body is buried.
John seemed to accept that his time in the Dales was over as he settled into the back of the van for his illegal trip overseas and proceeded to beg Caleb to tell Aaron that he loves him, despite almost killing him.
In the next shocking scene, Cain got into the driver's seat and took off with the shotgun beside him, fuelled with fury. However, fans will have to stay tuned to see whether he tracks them down and what transpires if he does.
It's also yet to be seen if John will successfully make it to Rotterdam or if his villainous actions will finally catch up to him.
