LIV Golf star in angry moment with heckler at PGA Championship

While walking around the course at Quail Hollow for the championship, the five-time major winner, who had skipped the champions dinner earlier this week, experienced two dire rounds which extended his poor run of form in the main events. Koepka finished with scores of 75 and 76, ending up at nine-over-par for the tournament and missing the cut by eight strokes.

"That's what guaranteed money does to you, Brooks," jeered a fan from the hospitality section during the second round.

The confrontation was captured on video and circulated over social media, showing Koepka halting to confront the heckler. "You want to come down here and say it?" he challenged the spectator, repeating himself before proceeding along the course.

Koepka joined LIV as one of its marquee entrants during its debut year, and he later disclosed that his signing bonus from the Saudi-sponsored tournament exceeded $100 million. He initially improved following the switch, finishing second behind Jon Rahm at the Masters in 2023 and shortly afterwards clinching his third PGA Championship title at Oak Hill.

However, the Florida-born star has seen his major tournament prospects wane significantly of late. Since joining LIV, he's notched five victories but his record in the majors is less impressive, with only one top-20 finish in his last eight and missing the cut in his most recent two appearances, including a disappointing performance at Augusta National last month.

As a result, it was hardly a shock when an image surfaced online showing Koepka clutching a case of beer at a QuickTrip store post-round on Friday. Koepka, alongside golfers Shane Lowry and Rickie Fowler, all failed to make the cut. Lowry especially was left reeling from a spate of ill luck, including an exceedingly harsh outcome on the eighth where his ball ended in another player's divot on the fairway.
