Russia launched a wave of attacks against cities in Ukraine overnight, just hours before Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump meet for peace talks. At least four people were killed in strikes on Kharkiv, including a one-year-old girl and a boy, 16, according to regional governor Oleh Syniehubov. He said at least 18 people were injured.

Ukraine's president has arrived in Washington, where he will meet his US counterpart and European leaders. British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz plan to join Mr Zelensky in the US capital.
