Vadodara: Marking a milestone in its 58-year history, the Baroda chapter of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) has a woman chairperson for the first time.
Amruta Vyas was appointed the chairperson for 2025-26. Vyas, who earned her cost and management accountant (CMA) credentials in 2012, has actively contributed to the institute since joining its managing committee in 2013.
"The CMA course is designed to train professionals in management strategy, cost audit, regulatory frameworks and financial analysis. I look forward to further strengthening the role of CMAs in diverse sectors and advocating for their recognition under the Income Tax Act and in the cooperative sector," said Vyas.
ICMAI is one of India's three premier professional bodies in the financial domain. "There are expanding opportunities for CMAs in fields such as cost audit, financial and tax management, direct and indirect taxation, banking, and investment analysis," she said, adding that CMA qualifications are also highly regarded in central and state govt finance departments.
The new team of the Baroda chapter includes Priyank Vyas as vice-chairperson, Vandit Trivedi as secretary and Mohit Nagdev as treasurer.
