Sunny Deol, the man who painted 2023 in his colours with ‘Gadar 2,’ made it back to the box office in 2025 with ‘Jaat.’ Though the movie couldn’t create as much impact as ‘Gadar 2’ did, it maintained a steady pace at the box office. However, with other new releases taking over the box office, it appears that ‘Jaat’ is its third week is going to loose the battle. The film, which showed quite a hike on the weekend, recorded its lowest on its third Monday, as it fell short of meeting even the one crore mark.

‘Kesari Chapter 2’ takes the reign at the box office, while ‘Ground Zero’ also surpasses the collection

Headlined by Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, ‘Kesari 2’ made a business of around Rs. 3 crore on Monday, while Emraan Hashmi's film ‘Ground Zero’ minted Rs. 70 lakhs. Both movies surpassed the collection of ‘Jaat’; the former with a big gap and the latter with a marginal difference.

Meanwhile, recently, 'Andaaz Apna Apna,' the 90s classic, got a release. The film starring Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor brought back a dose of nostalgia and did a nice business at the box office.

Soon, the film will see more competition as Ajay Devgn’s ‘Raid 2’ is all set to hit the theatres on May 1, 2025.

'Jaat' cast and crewWritten and directed by Gopichand Malineni, this action drama has Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda and Regina Cassandra in lead roles. Alongside these stars, other actors like Ramya Krishnan, Saiyami Kher, Vineet Kumar Singh, Jagapathi Babu, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, P. Ravi Shankar and Babloo Prithiveeraj are also seen in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, after the huge success of Jaat, Sunny Deol officially announced Jaat 2 on April 17. The sequel will be directed by Gopichand Malineni. ' Jaat' was Deol’s third-biggest hit, and now with the sequel confirmed, fans can expect even more action and drama in Jaat 2.

'Jaat' movie reviewReviewing the film, TOI mentioned, "Jaat delivers exactly what it promises: a nostalgia-fueled action drama powered by its male leads and dialogue-heavy theatrics. But for all its sound and fury, it lacks the courage to push beyond its comfort zone. It’s a decent one-time watch for fans of old-school Deol-led actioners, but for anyone seeking innovation or depth, Jaat may feel like a missed opportunity wrapped in a thunderous punch."
