Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh recently took a trip down memory lane, recalling his time working with Deepika Padukone in Lafangey Parindey. In an interview, the actor opened up about their bond, shared experiences, and admiration.

Speaking to India Today Digital, he reflected on their first major promotional activity together, involving a magazine shoot. He said, "I really enjoyed it because it was our first promotional kick-start to 'Lafangey Parindey'. But at the same time, the characters we were playing on screen were very different from the vibe of this shoot—very puffy colours, very young vibe.”

Neil praised Deepika's dedication and expressed his deep respect for her, acknowledging the immense hard work she put into her career. He mentioned that working with her and the entire team was an outstanding experience.

Neil on staying in touch with Deepika Padukone

When asked about staying in touch, Neil shared that they connect "off and on" due to their busy personal lives. He mentioned that whenever they meet, they remain cordial and gracious. Despite the distance, he expressed that Deepika will always hold a special place in his heart.

Bond with Katrina Kaif
Neil, who has worked with many leading actresses, spoke fondly about his time with Katrina Kaif. Describing her as "very dear" to him, he gushed about their fantastic teamwork and great memories from their shoot together.

When asked to choose just one actress he'd like to reunite with from his past films, Neil didn’t hesitate and shared, "Deepika. I have worked with amazing actors like Katrina, Bipasha, and others, but I would like to reunite with Deepika. She’s somebody who inspires me as an actor. Of course, she’s drop-dead gorgeous, but apart from the glam aspect, I love that she puts in a lot of effort. She’s very supportive as a co-actor, too. 'Lafangey Parindey' was a tough film — learning skating. I’ve seen her journey, her dedication, and her hard work toward her craft. So, for me, I was truly inspired watching that. Playing a blind character was difficult but she did it so beautifully."

He also praised Deepika’s recent choice of roles. “Of late, she’s been experimenting with very interesting characters and roles. Like 'Chhapaak', for example, that was a film I really enjoyed. And I need to work with actors who inspire me and can probably teach me something. For her to be so confident in her own skin and go play a character like that, that’s inspiring, and I admire that about her. She’ll always be very close to my heart."

Cinematic front
Neil has appeared in films like 'New York', 'Tera Kya Hoga Johnny', and 'Players'. The actor is also praised for his versatility and has worked in a variety of genres, including thrillers and dramas.
