Kannada star Yash has finally begun shooting for Nitesh Tiwari's big-screen epic Bollywood film 'Ramayana' in Mumbai. The actor, who plays the mighty Raavan, has started a month-long filming schedule which includes major scenes from both 'Ramayana: Part One' and 'Part Two'.
A month-long shoot begins in Mumbai
As per a report by Pinkvilla, “Yash will be shooting for his part in Ramayana for almost a month, which includes portions of part one and also some bits of part two. He has commenced his journey with solo sequences and will soon shoot for the combination scenes with Sai Pallavi (Sita), Ranbir Kapoor (Lord Ram) and Sunny Deol (Lord Hanuman).”
Two-part release planned for Diwali
The team is moving quickly with the shoot. According to the same report, the main filming for 'Ramayana: Part One' will be wrapped up in just a couple of weeks. Without any break, the team will then begin shooting for 'Part Two', which is planned to hit cinemas exactly a year after the first instalment.
To remind fans of the timeline, 'Ramayana: Part One' is set to release during Diwali 2026 and 'Ramayana: Part Two' will follow in Diwali 2027.

This version of the 'Ramayana' is being made on a grand scale, with global ambitions. As per the report, “The idea is to make a film that represents India and Indian tales at a global level.”
Seeking lord Shiva’s blessings before the shoot
Before stepping into his powerful role, Yash visited the famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. He took part in the early morning Bhasmarti – a special and sacred ceremony – and performed aarti under the guidance of temple priests. Speaking to the media in fluent Hindi, Yash shared, “I wanted the blessings of Lord Shiva. He is also our home deity. I prayed for the happiness and prosperity of everyone.”
